REMILO / LEGAL

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Remilo's app, support website, and related services (the "Service"). The Service is provided by Remilo ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement where you live. Provide accurate account information and use the Service in accordance with applicable law. Do not use another person's identity or account without permission.

2. Accounts and sign-in

Remilo offers Sign in with Apple and a combined email-and-password entry. For email access, the server identifies whether to create an account or sign in an existing account; there is no separate registration entry. Keep your credentials and device secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Contact us promptly if you believe someone has accessed it without authorization.

An Apple relay email and a separately entered email may identify different accounts. Use the same sign-in method when returning to the same account. We may need to verify ownership before helping with a request, and cannot guarantee access if ownership cannot be established. Do not send your password to support.

3. Personal notes, places, and backups

Remilo's personal tools let you keep independent notes, optionally link notes to places, and organize saved places and photos, including Want to go and Visited status. Features can vary by version and availability.

Your personal library is stored locally and separated by account. It is not automatically synchronized to a Remilo cloud library. Signing out retains the account's local library on the device; it does not delete the account. Signing into another device does not automatically transfer the library. Device loss, app removal, or storage problems may cause local data loss. Your operating system may separately back up app files according to your settings.

Where Backup is available, it creates an unencrypted ZIP export. Remilo currently does not offer in-app restoration or import of that export. You are responsible for deciding where to store or share copies and protecting them. An export does not promise future recovery or device migration. Deleting information or an account does not remove copies you exported or shared.

Place names, addresses, map results, and location estimates can be incomplete or inaccurate. Check information before relying on it. Remilo is not an emergency service or a guarantee that a place is accessible, safe, open, or available.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the notes, photos, profile information, and other content you create or submit. You must have the rights and permissions needed to use that content, including respecting other people's privacy and intellectual property.

When you upload or submit content to an online feature, you give Remilo a non-exclusive license to host, store, process, transmit, and display it only as reasonably needed to provide, maintain, and secure the Service, carry out your instructions, and comply with law. This license does not transfer ownership or authorize advertising targeting using your private local library. Its duration is limited to those purposes and any lawful retention described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to:

  • Violate the law, infringe another person's rights, or distribute unlawful content.
  • Harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, or defraud another person.
  • Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, steal credentials, or bypass security controls.
  • Interfere with the Service, abuse its infrastructure, or collect information from it without authorization.
  • Use accounts, uploads, or online features for spam or deceptive activity.

We may investigate misuse and take proportionate action to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. This does not mean that Remilo routinely receives or reviews your local note and place library.

6. Permissions and third-party services

Location, camera, photo, notification, and tracking permissions are managed through iOS. You can decline or revoke them, although the corresponding features may be unavailable. A permission request does not grant us ownership of your content.

Apple sign-in, maps, embedded online features, external websites, and payment providers may be subject to additional third-party terms and privacy policies. Those providers control their services. Remilo is responsible for its own obligations and does not guarantee an external service's availability or accuracy.

Online features may process account and device information and information you submit, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Features and availability may change. Additional terms for an optional feature will be presented before you accept or use that feature.

7. Purchases, if offered

If a paid feature is offered, its price and any subscription period or renewal terms will be disclosed before purchase. Purchases processed by Apple are also subject to Apple's payment, cancellation, and refund rules. Manage Apple subscriptions through your Apple account. Deleting Remilo or your account does not by itself cancel an Apple subscription. These Terms do not limit refund or cancellation rights required by law. For an external paid service, review the identified seller and its terms before paying.

8. Software and intellectual property

Remilo and its licensors retain rights in the software, branding, and Service materials other than your content. Use them only as authorized by these Terms, applicable license terms, and law. Do not copy, sell, or misuse them without permission. Rights granted by open-source licenses are not restricted by these Terms.

Your license to the iOS app is also subject to Apple's applicable App Store usage rules and standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement where applicable: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

These Terms describe use of the Service and do not replace Apple's standard app license with a custom App Store license. Remilo, rather than Apple, provides the Service and handles the support and account requests described here.

9. Ending use and deleting an account

You may stop using the Service at any time. Use Delete account where available or email remiloapp@support.com to request deletion. We may verify ownership before acting. Successful deletion through the app's deletion flow removes that account's local library on the device performing the deletion. Server-side information is handled under the Privacy Policy, including limited lawful retention. Exports and copies on other devices may need separate deletion.

We may restrict or suspend an account for a material violation of these Terms, a security risk, or a legal requirement. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve it. We may discontinue features or the Service with reasonable notice where practicable. We cannot guarantee recovery of local content; consider any available export options before ending use.

10. Service limitations and responsibility

We aim to provide a useful, reliable Service, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or recovery of all information. To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without additional warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the extent permitted by law, Remilo is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of the Service, including indirect loss of profits or data. These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury. They do not remove mandatory consumer guarantees, remedies, or statutory rights.

11. Changes, disputes, and contact

We may revise these Terms as the Service changes. We will update the date and provide notice of material changes, and obtain agreement where required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove legally protected rights. If you do not accept revised Terms, stop using the Service and contact us about available account and export options.

For a question or dispute, contact remiloapp@support.com so we can try to resolve it. These Terms do not require arbitration, waive class-action rights, or remove access to courts or protections available under applicable law. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

For questions about these Terms, contact Remilo at remiloapp@support.com.
